The story

Started in a basement
with $100.

I am Dr. Vanyo Vezirov. A few years ago I had just started my business from a basement in the building where my parents lived — with no more than $100 and an old computer.

I was desperately searching for a way to solve a problem in my own education, because the models at the university were devastating: old, broken and missing the very structures we had to know for the exam.

Then it went viral

The most precise skull
in the world. Period.

I posted a picture of Oscar on social media — and people went crazy. On the very first evening I received several requests from friends who wanted their own Oscar.

I took it to the Anatomy Department of my university. The teachers showed me a few missing foramina — and that was all the motivation I needed. I took the atlas, found a 3D designer, worked ten hours a day and re-checked every structure until all 300 structures were on the model.

Why students love it

Everything you need
to ace the exam.

We eliminate the surprises you might expect on your practical exam. As they say: complete to the last structure.

01

Complete to the last structure

Every structure on and inside the skull — even the processus styloideus is visible front and center.

02

Real life size

An exact 1:1 copy of a real skull, built from CT scans — so you see every structure as it appears in real life.

03

Lighter than your textbook

Oscar weighs only 300 g. We measured a university anatomy textbook: 1 kg and 747 g. Easy to take to every class.

04

Your dissection lab at home

No more early weekend mornings in the dissection lab. Study whenever you want — the lab is right next to you.

05

Colour-code your anatomy

Paint the bones and structures on Oscar in your own colours. Colour associations make them much easier to remember for the exam.

06

Eco-friendly PLA

Made entirely of poly-lactic acid, which degrades naturally. Lightweight, odour-free and durable for years.

Why 3D printing

Better than
the ossuary.

Mass-produced plastic skulls are cast in moulds on a conveyor — details get lost, and the structures you need for the exam are often simplified or missing.

Oscar is printed layer by layer from real CT data. That is how we reach 0.2 mm precision and a level of detail moulded models simply can’t match — at the best price-to-value ratio in Europe.

Ethical by design

No real bones
needed.

Using real human bones and cadaver material in education has always raised ethical questions. Today technology lets us leave that problem behind — without losing any of the detail and authenticity of real anatomy.

Questions

Good to know

What is Oscar made of?
PLA — polymer of lactic acid. It is lightweight, odour-free, safe and durable for years of use.
Are all the structures really on the model?
Yes. Oscar is an exact copy of a real skull, created from CT scans, and contains all the structures observed on and inside the skull.
Which colours are available?
Ivory, beige and white.
What is the difference between the three versions?
The Human Skull is the complete skull in one piece. Bones Separately gives you every bone of the skull as an individual model — ideal for studying each bone on its own. The Transversal Section has a removable skull cap, so you can study the cranial cavity and the skull base from inside.
Is Oscar made from real bone?
No. Oscar is derived from the CT scan of a real human skull and then 3D-printed in PLA. You get the real anatomy — without the ethical issues of real bones.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. It is ready to use right out of the box and simple enough for first-year students, while keeping the detail professionals need.
Can universities or clinics order more than one?
Yes. Write to us for orders for classrooms, departments or doctors’ offices, as well as for custom versions.
How long does delivery take?
Usually 1–5 business days within the EU and 1–10 business days worldwide after dispatch. Shipping is €9.90 for nearby EU countries and free on orders over €99. See Delivery for details.
